That Turkish Girl Travels

This website is a love letter from me to the world.

This site is best used for its itineraries, which are linked at the bottom of some of the places I go to! While I’m not able to make one for every city, I incorporate extensive research and my own experiences to curate some of the best recommendations that you can’t find anywhere else on the web.

A lot of people call websites antiquated — and don’t even get me started on what they say about blogs. But the reality is, I believe that my background, identity, and emphasis on ethical tourism truly set me apart as a traveler, and therefore qualify me to give some great tips!

My number one tip to keep in mind is that traveling means that you are a guest in someone else’s home. Always act with respect and never entitlement! Follow local rules and regulations, and make sure you leave the places you traveled to as good or better than how you arrived to them. Also remember that local businesses are at the heart of every economy and to go to as many as possible — local tours included.

I think travel is essential to building character and feeding the desire to simply gain knowledge. It’s an intellectual sport that only works best if you’re interested in both the journey AND the destination.
